German Nationals

German passport holders may enter the Republic of Korea visa-free for up to 90 days for business, conferences or tourism. A K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) is currently not required for German nationals. (temporary exemption valid until 31 December 2026)

Other Nationalities

Visa requirements depend on nationality. Certain visitors may enter the Republic of Korea without a visa under visa exemption agreements or based on principles of reciprocity.

Journalists

Journalists and media representatives travelling to Korea for reporting, interviews, filming, or other journalistic activities may require a separate visa regardless of visa-free entry eligibility.

A C-1 Temporary Journalism Visa may be required for media-related activities in Korea.
Please contact your nearest Korean Embassy/Consulate in advance to confirm the applicable requirements.

VISA

All foreign visitors to the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport. While many nationalities are eligible for visa-free entry, others may require a visa prior to arrival.

All attendees are responsible for verifying their individual visa and entry requirements prior to travel.

K-ETA

(Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)

In general, travelers from visa-free countries are required to obtain a K-ETA prior to entry. However, the following countries and regions are temporarily exempt from the K-ETA requirement until 31 December 2026:

  • Germany

  • Hong Kong

  • Japan

  • Macao

  • Singapore

  • Taiwan

  • France

  • Italy

  • Netherland

  • Norway

  • Poland

  • Australia

  • New Zealand

  • Austria

  • Belgium

  • Denmark

  • Finland

  • Spain

  • Sweden

  • United Kingdom

  • Canada

  • United States

Additionally, visitors aged 17 and under or 65 and above are exempt from K-ETA requirements regardless of nationality.

 

If your country is not listed above, you are required to apply for a K-ETA prior to travel.

Arrival Process

To ensure a smooth arrival process, visitors are encouraged to complete the official e Arrival Card online prior to entry:

  • Submission available within 3 days prior to arrival

  • Free of charge (official government platform)

  • Helps streamline the immigration process

 

Please note:

  • Cash exceeding USD 10,000 must be declared upon entry.

  • Entry requirements are subject to change.

Participants are advised to check the latest official requirements prior to departure.
